Our Children

Caring Is at Our Core
At Purple Hill Homes , we believe that care begins with connection. Our homes are designed to be a true “home away from home”—places where both children and adults feel welcomed, supported, and safe. From the moment a child arrives, we focus on helping them settle, building trusting relationships, and creating a secure foundation for them to grow and thrive.
We promote independence through a personalised, child-centred approach. Each child receives care tailored to their specific needs, using adapted communication methods where necessary—including PECS, SignAlong, and Easy Read formats. Our nurturing environment is grounded in the PACE model of therapeutic parenting, developed to support children who have experienced trauma with empathy, consistency, and respect.
We believe that stability is key. That’s why our experienced and consistent staff team plays a vital role in modelling positive behaviour and supporting emotional development. Their ongoing presence provides a reliable framework for children to build trust, understand boundaries, and experience progress—laying the groundwork for confident, stable transitions through life.
Our Progressive Ethos
At Purple Hill Homes , our culture is shaped by shared values, evidence-based practice, and a belief in every child’s potential. We maintain high standards through strong leadership, continuous training, and a team ethos built on reflection, care, and professional growth.
Children are involved in shaping their own care. We actively encourage them to contribute to their placement plans, health care plans, and personal targets. Achievements are celebrated through a positive reward system, developed in collaboration with each child to reinforce progress and build motivation.
We offer at least 1:1 staffing and tailor care packages to each child’s needs and long-term goals, supported by a dedicated, highly trained team who are passionate about delivering meaningful outcomes.
Enjoying & Achieving
A healthy, active lifestyle is encouraged for all our children. We recognise that some young people may need additional encouragement and support to access meaningful leisure opportunities. Our staff work closely with each child to help them explore hobbies, personal interests, and group activities that foster confidence, trust, and enjoyment.
Transport is provided to ensure children can engage in a wide range of community-based and in-house activities—both individually and as a group. We value the impact of shared experiences in building friendships, developing social skills, and strengthening a sense of belonging.
Children are supported to build their own extracurricular calendar, and we offer reward-based special activities to celebrate milestones and progress. We also ensure that all children are able to attend and take part in religious and cultural festivals that are meaningful to them

Health and Well being
Every child helps co-create their Healthcare Plan, empowering them to take ownership of their wellbeing and identify areas where support is needed. Our team ensures timely medical check-ups, dental care, and eye examinations, and maintains a full medical history for each child, including immunisation records and prescribed medications.
We promote healthy lifestyles through education, daily routines, and shared mealtimes. Children are encouraged to make informed food choices, participate in meal planning and grocery shopping, and learn essential life skills around nutrition and cooking.
All dietary requirements—whether cultural, medical, or personal—are respected and supported, with clear guidance for staff included in each child’s care plan.
Cultural, Linguistic & Religious Identity
At Purple Hill Homes , we embrace and celebrate diversity. We recognise the importance of supporting each child’s cultural, religious, and linguistic identity as an integral part of their emotional wellbeing.
We actively facilitate religious observance in line with each child’s beliefs, helping them attend places of worship and take part in cultural traditions as appropriate. This information is recorded in the child’s placement plan and additional staff training is provided where necessary to ensure cultural competence and respectful care.
Whether it’s through dietary needs, clothing, language, or customs, we are committed to creating a fully inclusive environment where every child feels seen, heard, and accepted for who they are.
